Foundations of
3D Printing
3D printing kind of sounds like magic, doesn’t it? It seems like a complex and difficult skill completely out of the grasp of us mere mortals. Luckily, that all couldn’t be any less true! 3D printing is an intuitive and fun skill to pick up, and we’ll help your student do it.
An Introduction to:
1. C.A.D.
which stands for Computer Assisted Design. This is the software your student will learn - allowing them to design their own 3D models
2. SLICING
a.k.a. the process of preparing models for print, translating a design into instructions a 3D printer can understand
3. PRINTING
your student’s very own original models, all while learning about the mechanics behind 3D printers
